Carrier Oils
Carrier oils (sometimes called base oils) make up the largest part of any oil formulation. We source the finest organic and natural carrier oils to produce our face and body oils. Oils listed below as "organic" have been certified organic by the Soil Association. All of our organic carrier oils have been cold pressed to best preserve their nutrients and antioxidant properties.

Organic Almond Oil (Sweet)

Organic Apricot Kernel Oil

Organic Avocado Oil
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis
Rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids, Sweet Almond oil makes a nutritious moisturiser for all skin types. It is also a fantastic oil to use for cleansing. It has a light to medium consistency which does not leave the skin feeling oily or sticky, making it ideal as an all purpose base oil. Comedogenic scale rating 2.
Prunus Armeniaca
Apricot Kernel oil is light in texture and easily absorbed into the skin and does not clog pores. It is suitable for combination and dry skin, as well as sensitive skin. Comedogenic scale rating 2.
Persea Gratissima
Avocado oil is packed with vitamins including A, E and D as well as palmitoleic acid, and is a fantastic ingredient for dry and mature skin. Comedogenic scale rating 3 which means it is a slightly thicker oil, but when used in smaller amounts with other carrier oils it will not block pores.

Chia seed oil is rich in fatty acids, zinc and vitamin B3. It is a thin, highly moisturising oil. Suitable for all skin types but particularly acne prone, oily or sensitive skin. Comedogenic scale rating 3 which means it is a slightly thicker oil, but when used in smaller amounts with other carrier oils it will not block pores.
Vitis Vinifera
Grapeseed oil is an easily absorbed oil that contains vitamins E and C. It has strong antioxidant properties, and helps to moisturise and balance the skin, without blocking pores. Comedogenic scale rating 1.
Corylus Avellana
Hazelnut oil contains tannins, which are powerful antioxidants. The tannins in hazelnut oil make it an astringent that can help to dry out oily skin, and cleanse and shrink pores while removing bacteria. Comedogenic scale rating 1.

Jojoba oil is produced from the seeds of the jojoba fruit. Jojoba oil is actually quite unique, in that it is actually mostly made up of wax esters with extremely similar properties as the skin's own sebum. It is easily absorbed and is suitable for all skin types. Comedogenic scale rating 2.
Rosa Canina
Rosehip seed oil contains vitamins A and C, as well as essential fatty acids which makes it a fantastic addition to help moisturise and condition the skin. Rosehip seed oil is particularly good for mature or dry skin. Comedogenic scale rating 1.
Carthamus Tinctorius
Safflower oil is a great source of Vitamin E and the omega-6 essential fatty acid, linoleic acid. It absorbs quickly to provide improved skin barrier function and skin appearance, without clogging pores. Comedogenic scale rating 0.

Sea buckthorn kernel oil is comprised of vitamins and essential fatty acids to nourish and moisturise the skin. It can help to boost circulation and promote the oxygenation of skin cells. It is great for dry and maturing skin. Comedogenic scale rating 2.
Squalane
The sqalane we use is derived from olive oil. Squalane is very similar to squalene which is a component of the skin's sebum (but does not oxidise like squalene does). It is a great emollient and enhances elasticity. Squalane is very light, easily absorbed and does not clog pores. Comedogenic scale rating 0-1.
Helianthus Annus
Sunflower oil contains Vitamin E to protect the skin from free radical damage and damage from external stressors. Linoleic acid strengthens the skin's barrier and helps it retain moisture. Comedogenic scale rating 0-2.
Essential Oils and Extracts
The essential oils we use have individual properties to help nourish and condition your skin. The essential oils and extracts that we use give our oils their unique scents - we never add any artificial perfumes to our products. Oils listed below as "organic" have been certified organic by the Soil Association. Oils not listed as organic are still from natural origin.

Bakuchiol has powerful antioxidant properties that will help to fight the damage caused by free radicals and environmental stressors. It has a range of skin benefits including evening skin tone and reducing fine lines. It also has soothing properties and is suitable for sensitive and acne prone skin.
Citrus Bergamia
Bergamot is packed full of antioxidants and also has antibacterial properties. Unrefined bergamot oil is damaging to skin as it contains a chemical that reacts with UV rays, however we use an oil that has had this chemical removed and it is safe to use before sun exposure (obviously we always recommend SPF also).
Anthemis Nobilis
Chamomile has many skin benefits due to it's antioxidant content that has a regenerative effect on skin cells. It highly moisturising and is also famously soothing to the skin. It is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin and for those with inflammatory skin conditions such as rosacea.

Frankincense has antimicrobial properties that can help keep skin clear of blemishes and blocked pores.
Helichrysum Italicum
Helichrysum also has the name "immortelle". It is thought that the antioxidants present in helichrysum can have a direct impact on the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. It also has antibacterial properties.
Jasminum Grandiflorum
Jasmine has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. It is also a great moisturiser, and is great for dry or maturing skin. The jasmine aroma has a calming relaxing effect on the body, and some also consider jasmine to be an aphrodisiac.

Myrrh has powerful antibacterial and antifungal properties to help cleanse the skin and prevent blemishes. It also has antioxidant properties that can help protect the skin from free radical damage.
Citrus Aurantium Var. Amara
Neroli protects skin cells while promoting regeneration of new cells, which can help maintain and boost youthful looking skin. It is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, and is very useful for acne prone skin.
Rosa Damascena
Rose Otto is the purest form of Rose oil there is. Steam distilled, it takes around 60 roses to make a single drop of Rose Otto oil. Rose Otto has emollient, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties to moisturise and soothe the skin while protecting it from environmental stressors and bacteria. It is suitable for most skin types but is wonder for mature, dry, normal and acne prone skin.

Sandalwood is rich in antioxidants to protect the skin from external stressors, and has anti-inflammatory effects to calm irritation. Suitable for use even on skin prone to eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis. The distinctive woody aroma can help to relieve anxiety and promote restful sleep.
Citrus Sinensis
Sweet orange oil has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. It's uplifting scent paradoxically leaves the body relaxed and calm, helping to relieve anxiety and improve mental alertness.
Vanilla Planifolia
Vanilla extract is a good source of B vitamins which play an important role in the maintenance of healthy skin. It also has antioxidant properties to protect the skin against external stressors. Vanilla has a powerful soothing effect on the central nervous system, helping to relieve restlessness and anxiety. It is also an natural aphrodisiac.

Vitamin E is naturally found in our skin, but can deplete with exposure to the sun and things like smoking. We add Vitamin E oil to all of our formulations. Vitamin E oil has significant antioxidant properties to help protect your skin from environmental stressors. It also helps the other oils in the blend maintain their properties and extend their lifespan.
